THE NIGHT A LONDON BUS JUMPED TOWER BRIDGE 🇬🇧On THE NIGHT A LONDON BUS JUMPED TOWER BRIDGE 🇬🇧On 30 December 1952, London bus driver Albert Gunter faced a situation few motorists could ever imagine: Tower Bridge was opening beneath his double-decker.Gunter was driving the number 78 towards Dulwich, carrying around 20 passengers. Crucially, he later stated that the traffic lights were green as he entered the bridge. He heard the warning bell only after reaching safety. The warning procedure had failed - and his bus was already on the rising roadway. With seconds to react, Gunter accelerated. The double-decker cleared the widening gap and landed heavily on the opposite section, which had not yet begun to rise.Fearing that the other half might lift too, he continued driving until he was clear.Everyone survived. Several passengers were injured, and the conductor suffered a broken leg, but Gunter’s extraordinary presence of mind had averted a potential disaster. His explanation was direct: “I felt we had to keep on or we might be flung into the river. So I accelerated.”For his quick thinking, Gunter received a £10 reward and a day off work.Asked how he would spend the money, his reply was wonderfully understated:“Five for me, and five for the missus.”An ordinary evening’s work became an extraordinary chapter in London’s history.#TowerBridge #London #Drive #Friday #ClassicCars
When your wardrobe is as timeless as your garage, When your wardrobe is as timeless as your garage, you’re not just a designer - you’re a curator of history! The car in this iconic photo isn’t just any vintage Jag; it is the ‘1950 Jaguar XK120 Semi-Works Roadster’ - Chassis 660043.🏁 The History of a LegendThis specific car is one of only a handful of “Semi-Works” models built to a higher racing specification for Jaguar’s most favored clients.• The Driver: Its first owner was the legendary Italian racing driver Clemente Biondetti, a four-time winner of the Mille Miglia.• The Pedigree: Biondetti raced this very car in the 1950 Mille Miglia and the Giro di Sicilia. It was a testbed for the speed and endurance that would eventually make Jaguar the king of Le Mans.• The Name: The ‘120’ stands for 120 mph, which made it the fastest production car in the world at its launch.👔 Speed Meets StyleRalph Lauren has often said that he doesn’t just collect cars; he collects ‘moving art’. For him, the XK120 represents the ultimate intersection of British engineering and effortless elegance - much like his Purple Label collection. In this shot, Ralph pairs the XK120 with a rugged shearling flight jacket and denim, proving that true style is about the spirit of adventure. Whether it’s the sweeping lines of the Car or the roar of the inline-six engine, some things never go out of fashion! This beauty forms part of his famous Car Collection and is known to be a firm favourite!#xk120 #jaguar #ralphlauren #classiccars #motorsport

A $70 Million Heartbreak 💔Watch the terrifying m A $70 Million Heartbreak 💔Watch the terrifying moment former F1 driver Karun Chandhok found himself in a high-speed pirouette at the 2023 Goodwood Revival. While battling in the Lavant Cup, the legendary V12 in this silver Ferrari 250 GTO suffered a catastrophic internal failure! The Anatomy of a Disaster:
⚙️ The Failure: An internal engine component let go, punching a hole straight through the sump.
⛽️ The Fire: Escaping oil hit the red-hot exhaust, creating that massive fireball you see mid-spin.
💨 The Save: With the rear wheels locked and the track slick with oil, Karun’s F1 instincts kicked in, steering the sliding icon safely onto the grass to keep the track clear for other drivers.Karun walked away with nothing but a melted racing boot and a wild story to tell. As he put it: “I heard a bang and the back wheels locked up. As I turned, I saw flames.”This is the reality of vintage racing at ten-tenths. These machines aren’t museum pieces—they’re thoroughbreds. The owner’s first question? Not about the repair bill, but if Karun was okay!Would you risk this legend on the track, or keep it under a silk cover? Let us know below!⬇️

The last masterpiece personally approved by Enzo F The last masterpiece personally approved by Enzo Ferrari. 🏁It was 1987. The world was favouring refinement, but the F40 wasn’t built for comfort - it was built for absolute dominance. As the first production car to shatter the 200mph barrier, it was a race car masquerading for the road.No power steering. No power brakes. Just a gated magnesium shifter and a 2.9L twin-turbo V8 screaming behind your head.In an age of hybrid assists and digital interfaces, the raw, visceral experience of the F40 is a vanishing breed.
